Features:
Zombie Wonderland 2: Outta Time is a cool little zombie fighting survival game. Kind of like Age of Zombies meets apocalyptic zombies. You take the role of Chuck (who, to be fair, is a bit of a red neck but is very handy with a shotgun). Chuck has to defend locations each night against zombies. He initially has the ability to board up windows and take out the undead with his gun, but as level progress there are lots of other destructive weapons to use. Then, once all the death-dealing is done, it’s time to mop up all that gooey mess!
You attack a zombie by tapping on them, Chuck obliges by moving to the nearest window and shoots them. To board a window, simply tap on it and Chucks gets stuck in hammering up wooden boards for added protection. When additional weapons are made available you need to tap on them first before they can be used. Thankfully, each weapon gets decent instructions before you get to use them, so you’ll know just what to do. There are 31 different missions in the game, which see you travelling through time, wiping out zombies in a variety of locations. Often, there’s something Chuck needs to defend; a jukebox and then a cow are the early things he must keep safe.
Zombies come in all different shapes and there are 25 in total. The further you progress the harder some of the new ones tend to become. They all have zany characters so it keeps the game quite fresh as they are introduced and you set about working out how to defeat them.
While killing zombies is the main thrust of gameplay, you also have to clean up afterwards. Successfully doing so earn you extra points and coins. The game is a freemium title, this means it’s pretty awesome but may need to make in-app purchases to gain more coins. In Zombie Wonderland 2, it’s not quite as oppressive as other freemium games and you can earn quite a lot by downloading other apps via the TapJoy network. It doesn’t suit everyone, and sadly there’s no version of the game you can just buy, but the gameplay threshold is really high (meaning you can play for quite a few levels without needing any kind of assistance). To give some context, I played the game quite a lot and made good progress without needing to use the TapJoy service, so it perhaps shouldn’t put you off.

Fun Factor:
Zombie Wonderland 2 is loads of fun and quite tongue-in-cheek. It’s not a horror title, not particularly scary and the gore is very cartoony. The gameplay is very simple to get into and wiping out zombies has never been as much fun.
Addictive:
I think once you get into it, Zombie Wonderland 2 is quite engrossing. The storyline is enjoyable and fun. It’s not an Angry Birds, but it’s good.
Graphics:
The graphics are slick and buttery smooth throughout. I love the way the camera pans around naturally and everything is incredibly fluid and easy-on-the-eye.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The sound is exemplary. Kind of “Beetlejuice” horror music and cute Halloween-style sounds. It’s more Addams Family that Night of The Living Dead… perfectly executed for the kind of game it is.
