Yummy Burger is a fast-food serving game where you have to build burgers to order as fast as you can! The gameplay is simple but you are on a timer so the pressure is on! While the 15-second timer is ideal for kids, the 7-second one is more than enough to test adults. It’s a free game that is easy to play… but I have some serious reservations about the in-app purchasing system and some of the claims made on the Google Play Store…
Price: Free
Tested on: HTC One X
Content Rating: Everyone
Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Simple gameplay!
- Addictive!
- Cute graphics!
Cons
- In-app purchase prices are insane, remember too this is a kids game!
- One of the permissions requires the app to know your phone identity, i.e. your phone number and serial number. Especially on a app aimed at kids, this might be cause for concern for some parents.
- False claims in the Google Play Store description.
Features:
Yummy Burger is a cinch to play. Simply take a look at the customers order and build the burger accordingly. You do this by tapping on the various ingredients in the correct order. The game is straight forward in that you have to complete as many orders as you can, accumulate money and with each new level of cash a new ingredient is added. So, for example, the first few are cheese. fries, bacon and so on. The game comes with four different modes; Stand, Restaurant, Time trial and Endurance. There are also three levels of play; classic (which is free) in addition to ‘Kid’ and ‘Mania’ which you can acquire via direct-to-Google-Play purchases.
I can totally get why the game is aimed at children- it looks fun, is brightly coloured and gameplay is great fun. The game is free to download but I found that the in-app purchases would be a serious cause for concern for any parent. The prices are incredibly extortionate for a basic kids game and I’m unsure what the developers hope to achieve by pricing the full game unlock value at £44.99 (around $70). Other levels can be bought individually but these still cost £13.99 (just over $20). There is also a ‘cheat’ mode which weighs in at a whopping £32.99 ($53). If that was not all and, remember the game is aimed at children and the $70 unlock app is coined in-game as ‘best deal ever!!’ When you then look at the game’s privacy policy, it’s quite possibly the worst deal ever.
If the prices were either slashed or made free and maybe even the removal of false-advertising statements like the description claim that the app is a ‘Top Free App’ in the Google Play (it isn’t), it has the potential to be quite good. Gamplay-wise it’s quite engaging and even a little addictive. That said, because of the problems described, I just wouldn’t recommend it.

Fun Factor:
Gameplay is great, lots of fun, simple and challenging. However, when you consider the permissions of the game, the fact that it’s directly aimed at children and the over-the-top prices, the sheen comes off.
Addictive:
For the basic gameplay, it’s very addictive. The game is very similar to another game, simply called ‘Burger‘ (which, incidentally IS a ‘Top Free App’ in the Google Play Store).
Graphics:
The graphics are quite simple but well-designed and look quite good.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The sound is a basic series of effects, not great.
