We get many inquiries “Where to Download YouTube Downloader?” or “How to Download YouTube Downloader?”… although Google pulled it from the Android Market, you can could get it directly from the developer’s website. Note: you will have to enable non-Market apps to be installed on your Android phone to install it.
To install non-Market apps on an Android Phone:
Frequency of use is dependant on how much you need to snag flix from YouTube. (I personally grab a lot of music from YouTube to listen to rather watch).
The user interface is a combination of simple video list, Youtube’s mobile website, and landscape wide-screen Android video player.

Tapp “Menu” button the “Settings”
Tapps “Applications”
Check “Unknown Sources”

I’ve got the same problem. I purchased and downloaded the software on my PC, then unzipped the files to my SD. How can I install it?
@topher @Chilun Have you received a file ending in “.APK”? This file should be copied to your phone, then using an app like Astro File Manager or Linda File Manager, browse to where you copied the app from your PC, then install it.
I purchased and downloaded the software on my PC, but it was a .zip file. So, I unzipped the file. However, I didn’t see any .apk file. Why? I am so frustrated.
2 Solutions:
1. Contact the developer support: support@siriusapplications.com for a new file.
2. Check out the file you unzipped, did you see files like “AndroidManifest.xml” and folders like “res”. If so, this is the YouTube Downloader app, just saved as a ZIP file instead of APK file. Simply change this “.zip” file extension to “.apk” then copy the APK file to your phone’s SD card to install. Let us know which solution works for you.
I downloaded the file to pc and emailed the file to my android. It shows up as a .apk attachment but the only option I have is to preview it which if activated gives me a “parsing error”. how do I download the app from the email? I have checked the unknown sources allow box and have a app installer app on the phone .
Try APKatcher by neX.Software
OK, how do I get APKatcher since I can’t find it in the Android Market?
If you can’t find it in the Android Market try either of these 2 alternative Markets (you’ll have enable non-Market downloads in the Settings menu):
SlideME.org: https://m.slideme.org/mobileapp/download/4f7e97c6-fc28-102c-a134-12313a00d126.apk
AndAppStore.com: http://andappstore.com/AndroidApplications/apps/207774!getApp;jsessionid=8B0B2F69DA9D997D953E93AF2EA1D009
Worked great, everything installed, thanks !
I don’t think it works anymore. Could Google have blocked it? It used to work on my G1 extremely well, but not anymore.
It seems like they have, try Dolphin Browser… you can download YouTube Videos with it: http://www.androidtapp.com/dolphin-browser/
