AndroidTapp.com Review:

Features:

This game works in both portrait and landscape mode. You can use the touchscreen, trackball, or keyboard to navigate the entire game. You can also shake the phone to “wrench” (or scramble) the letters around. Supports sounds and vibrations.

Tips on Keyboard Controls

  • A-Z = Enter the letter
  • Del = Erase the last letter
  • Enter = Submit current word
  • Space = Wrench Word
  • Left Shift = Empty Word
  • Right Shift = Last Word

Fun Factor:

WordWrench actually is a fun Android Game (one of the few good games for Android currently).

Addictive:

The challenge of trying to create as many word combinations as possible and thriving to beat your own high score can get addictive.

Graphics:

WordWrench does not require intense graphics processing nor fancy interfaces. Its user interface is good enough to play the game. Though the interface could use some spice, at least you can change the color schemes.

Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:

WordWrench uses the accelerometer to detect auto rotation when you go from Portrait or Landscape modes. It also uses vibration and sound effects, all of which can be controlled in the settings menu.

This is a great application or game, what ever you wish to call it. I love it, the wife likes it (well she is better at English than I am – so that must be a good endorsement) and most important of all, my 3 kids love it. It is an excellent tool for teaching and learning for the young. If my 5 yr old can play it (may not get the 6 letter words) but at least she tries. Most rewarding is when she asks how to spell a word – great game, great teaching tool and great fun – 5* Superb.
