Cons
WordPress Android App allows you to edit your WordPress blog, either self hosted or WordPress.com from Android phones. Far from the initial fork for Dan Roundhill’s wpToGo Android App; it has been overhauled with elegant new user interface, easy methods to quickly add picture & video posts, plus support for Android tablets.
Create and edit blog posts either locally, post a draft or publish to the blog. Moderate comments, and even create and edit Pages. Within the posts you can do limited formatting, however link captions can be added for better SEO and add images with caption and alignment options from your phone. With this iteration, you can edit your WordPress.com hosted blog as well.
If your blog is hosted on WordPress.com, there is an added benefit to check your blog stats, however, this feature is not available to self-hosted WordPress blogs.
If you have a WordPress blog and an Android phone or tablet, you’ll find this app very useful. Additionally, if you ever tried to blog on the mobile browser from your device in WordPress then you would know the frustrations and limitations of typing within the content editor. WordPress for Android allows for easier text editing, hassle-free is the way to be when writing on the go.
Simply log in with your blog credentials and you’re off!
For WordPress bloggers this app could be used as often as they blog… which can be multiple times daily!
The new user interface is elegant optimal for mobile blogging on either smartphone or tablet. The quick actions bar in the top right makes it convenient for toggling common tasks such as editing new posts, comments or pages.

I’m kinda shocked this didn’t rate higher. Every time I fire this app up, I’m amazed at how useful it is. Being able to moderate comments is HUGE!
You list the app’s origins as a con. Why?
We didn’t mean the app’s origin as a con but that the official app is basically wpToGo with a few enhancements… no dramatic differences.
I run a couple of wordpress blogs and just got the Eris, so I’ll be downloading this to try out for remote/event reporting.
Thanks for the detailed reviews – this is the 2nd wordpress app review I’ve read here.
Great info. This makes me curious about the future of truly mobile blogging. Should be interesting to see. Very good write up.
