Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Highly addictive!
- Simple to play!
- Smooth graphics!
- Frantic gameplay!
- Lots of pressure!
Cons
- If you like your Scrabble leisurely, this will scare you away.
Features:
Word Weasel is a fast-paced word finding game. Find as many words (of 2 letters or more) in a grid of 9 in just 50 seconds. You play against whoever else is online at the time. It’s that simple. You receive an average score and this grows the more you play. Your score is placed in the Top Players list which can be found in the Menu.
There are lots of options and settings too. Most notable are: Music: Switch on and off the music (which I’ll talk about that more later). Shake to shuffle allows you to shake your phone to mix up the letters. Notify repeat- things get hectic and sometimes you might find yourself repeating a word. Notify repeat will warn you when you do (the word displayed at the top of the screen has a little shake). Clear after error- it’s essential to activate this. If you get a word wrong it automatically deletes it. If you don’t use this setting you instead have to manually delete the word. Backspace – toggle to determine whether the backspace button deletes the word or just one letter. Online Play – play online or offline.
I should add that playing offline might be good practice for novices, but it feels incredibly dull without competition. Word Weasel is the ultimate online multi-player word game. It’s insanely frantic and genuinely challenging. Subsequently, therefore it’s as addictive as oxygen. I only find myself putting this down when I am truly at my wits end and on a significant losing streak.

Fun Factor:
Right now, it’s the most fun you can have with 9 letters at a time. Compulsive, addictive and deeply immersive- it’s insanely fun.
Addictive:
I struggle to put this down. I really do. It has one-more-go written all over it and it really is very difficult to put my phone down and do something else. 50 seconds… That’s all it takes- so it’s simple to keep on playing… for hours.
Graphics:
The graphics are deep and sleek in black, and it works really well. Menus, etc. are also simple yet well styled.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
Shaking to shuffle your letters works well, so the accelerometer gets a tick. The music is very cool and adds significantly to the tension in the game. Menu music is essentially a xylophone version of Pop Goes The Weasel (the nursery rhyme), but it’s almost like a horror film sound effect- it’s quite daunting. When the game starts the same tune kicks in but this time with far more orchestral clout. The music sears and builds to conclusion as the game ends and it feels like a genuinely moving experience. Utterly brilliant and irrepressibly superb.
