If you like word puzzles, Word to Word might quickly become a new favourite. It is essentially a word association game so you have to partner one word from the left of the screen to one on the right. The game becomes challenging when associations are more abstract or more than one word can be associated. The game is beautifully designed, fun to play and great for all ages.

Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Nice interface!
- Challenging and fun gameplay!
- Refreshing!
- Plenty of levels!
Cons
- The graphics are OK, but a little simplistic with no diversity between the levels and puzzle packs.
Features:
Word to Word is a word association game with smooth graphics and lots and lots of levels to play through. Gameplay is relatively simple- associate a word from the left hand side of the screen with one from the right. There should be a partner for every word and once you have matched them all up, the level is complete. This begins in a rather straight forward manner but as you progress, words begin to match more than one word and associations become more abstract or convoluted.
The game description explains it really well: “Words can be opposite. Words can mean the same thing. Words can be compound words. Words just have to be related!” This becomes quite tricky when more than one word can be associated with another. For example- ‘Music’ might be related to either ‘Compose’ or ‘Cassette’ and ‘Fasten’ could associate with both ‘Lace’ or ‘Belt’. In each level, there is only one answer to match every word with another so it’s sometimes tough to match them all.
There are 11 different puzzle packs contained within the full game, and each offers 40 different puzzles, meaning a healthy 440 different puzzles to take on. The game therefore has a great deal of longevity that should keep word puzzle game fans engaged for hours and hours. It suits players of all ages, can be used as a tool for vocabulary expansion and a brilliant game to wind-down to. Additionally, levels can be completed quite quickly so it can be played casually too.

Fun Factor:
Word to Word is very rewarding. When you complete levels or make more abstract associations, it’s really enjoyable. With so many levels to play through, there is lots of fun to be had- especially if you like word games.
Addictive:
I am a bit of a word game buff and I’ve certainly found this tricky to leave alone. It’s just so simple to play, but perhaps tests part of your brain you do not use often. Being able to make associations quickly is great and that reward alone can keep you playing level after level.
Graphics:
Being a word game, you have a great deal of text so graphics are based around that- rather than swishing with eye-candy. That said, the graphics are smooth, responsive and look good.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
There is a nice music track that plays in the background. It’s not ear-drum blowingly amazing, but suits the laid-back character of the game.
