WHERE Android App recently got new Placebook feature and Check-in functionality. Placebook is an address book for your places. You can keep track of the places you’ve been to, the places you want to go to as well as a list of your WHERE Reviews. Placebook also syncs with new consumer-friendly Where.com, so you can access and update your places on the Web or on your mobile device.
They’ve also introduced Check-in, which allows you to announce when you’ve arrived at a location, share this information on Facebook and Twitter, and quickly save a location to your Placebook. The Placebook, Check-in and Where.com synchronization combination helps people record their past, share their present, and plan for the future.
There are improvements to the homescreen and overall UI to make the app look better and improve the user experience (which was one of our only gripes about the app). There are new icons within the application and a new Dashboard feature that displays top WHERE content. There is also two new Android home screen widgets that stream WHERE feeds and popular local places you can Check-in.
