If you are a parent like I am you may have been in a situation where you were not sure of the reason behind your child’s aches and pains or whether rushing them to the hospital is top priority. However, with the help of WebMD you can easily solve many issues and acquire the information you need quick and simply.
I have personally been using this application for quite awhile now and have found it to be a lot of help when it comes to my five year old son. As you may know kids have a tendency to get bumps, bruises, and the occasionally “ouchy” and sometimes it is easier to be able to identify the possible cause right away. For instance my son, being a boy who likes to constantly do his dare devil acts, came to me the other day and told me his arm was hurting, however being five he could not easily explain what exactly was wrong. Instead of calling his doctor or another emergency facility I pulled out WebMD. By using the symptom checker and his help we will easily able to come up with possible reasons why his arm was bothering him.
The WebMD Symptom Checker lets you easily choose the part of the body that is in pain, discomfort, of distress and by answering basic questions like “How severe is the pain?” and “How was it brought on?”. Once you are done with answering the questions and adding any other possible injuries you will be presented with a list of possible conditions. These possible conditions can help you figure out what the next step is. As far as my son’s injury was concerned I was presented with different possible arm breaks and also sprains. With those possibilities I easily determined that he had a slight sprain since he could easily move his arm and wrist with only mild discomfort.
After I determined the problem I used WebMD’s First Aid and searched for sprains and was presented with treatments for Self -Care at Home. This helped me make sure that his sprain got the right home treatment so he was back playing in no time at all.
This is only one situation where WebMD can be helpful. All the features that their online site provides is easily accessible via their Android application which makes it very easy to determine what to do in almost every possible health situation there is. Just remember that this application is not a substitute for a Doctor or hospital.
I find WebMD’s Android application to be very useful. It can quickly and easily determine possible conditions based on the location and a few basic questions. I use this application quite often thanks to the all the features associated with it.
WebMD is very easy to use. When you first download the application you can easily set up your profile that includes, age, gender and location. By setting up your profile you an easily use the symptom checker and also find the nearest hospital or emergency facility.
I would hope that this application does not fall under anyone’s frequently used applications, but regardless it is still a great application to have on your device for those just in case situations.
The interface of WebMD is very nice. The way it is set up makes it easy to locate the feature you need with out the need to search through a bunch of different areas. I really enjoy the way this application looks and feels while using it.
