AndroidTapp.com Android App Review:

Pros & Cons:

Pros

  • Twitter’s official fully featured Android app
  • Access full Twitter features while mobile
  • Deeper integration into the phone’s Contacts

Cons

  • Currently only available for Android 2.0+ phones
  • Needs some improvements: Navigation could be better, synced contact storage saves to internal memory storage and not SD Card, Slow loading of data
  • Doesn’t support multiple Twitter accounts

Features:

Twitter for Android is the official app using many of Android 2.0+ native enhancements (hence it is only available for Android 2.0+ phones). Those being deeper integration into Contacts by adding Twitter picures and Tweets to contacts (just as Facebook pics and status updates are integrated). It supports Tweet/Retweet, Follow/Unfollow, Mentions/Replies, Direct Messages, Lists, Trends, Search, Photo Uploading and incorporates more geo-location and mapping features for tweeting. Even set Tweet & DM notifications and update intervals.

Gripe Alerts: Navigation could be improved as you have to press Menu and go back home to navigate to the next category. For some convenience there is a down-arrow under a categories which reveals more hidden features like Favorites, Share and Delete. Synced contact storage saves to internal memory storage and not SD Card (which can grow huge). Worst is the slow loading of data. Does not support multiple Twitter accounts (however I don’t foresee Twitter supporting multiple accounts unless they add it in their business model, this is a perk you’ll enjoy in third party Twitter apps).

Usefulness:

This app is great for those who use Twitter on Android phones.

Ease of Use & Interface:

As mentioned hidden menus and navigation initially can be quite cumbersome. The user interface resembles Twitters light-airy-Tweet bird brand (some animation too). Tweets are listed in a familiar format from the website (with soooo many apps able to access full Twitter, when was the last time you’ve been on Twitter.com).

Frequently Used:

If you’re a chatty Twitter user or loyal follower, then this app would possibly be used multiple times daily.
