TuneWiki is a Next Generation Social Media player; it promotoes a social network that allows users to add, edit and synchronize lyrics to audio and video files in all languages; and displays location based charts and maps of music played around the globe.
AndroidTapp.com Review:
Usefulness:
TuneWiki is so useful that it’s my replacement for the default Music Player! TuneWiki takes listening to music or watching videos on Android to a whole new level. One of the most useful features is the ability to create Playlists!
Features:
Music
You can listen to the music on your SD card by Artists, Albums, Songs, Playlists, Shuffle All Songs, and Music Videos. When listening to music on TuneWiki, it fetches the song lyrics with auto sync and shows the album art cover even when the default music player doesn’t (if applicable).
Additionally, you can see who else in the world is listening to music on TuneWiki with the Community feature called Music Maps. A hidden feature is the Shoutwall, where you can post/read comments about the songs you’re listening to.
We’ve found a quirk, or bug when creating a new playlist in TuneWiki though. This particular screen does not auto-rotate when you flip open the keyboard to type a playlist title. Weird, you have to type on a counter clock-wise angle. (Anyone else experiencing this? If so, comment below…)
Playlists
You can create your own playlists; by default TuneWiki places 3 playlists categories there for you; which stream music from Top 50 Songs Today, Top 50 Songs This Weeks, Top 50 Songs This Month. (We are unsure where the top song chart is generated from, if you know post in the comments). One thing you should know, the “Songs” are videos from YouTube with the song lyrics are auto synched.
One drawback we found, you can’t place the phone on “Sleep” and simultaneously play the music (but it is possible when listening to music on the SD Card). On the G1, if you press the sleep button, the music will pause. Why would you need this? Battery conservation! So if you’re at work, on the train listening to the audio from the videos, or not in a situation to actually watch the videos; turning off your screen is logical.
Music Video Library
Pretty much a playlist of all the YouTube videos you’ve added from one of the 3 predefined “Top 50 Songs…”
TuneWiki Community
This extended feature allows you to search for song lyrics, go to Music Maps, drill down TuneWiki Top 50, TuneWiki’s playlists, free music downloads and more. The most notable of the list is the cool Music Maps feature. You can see on the Google maps where and what other community members are listening to.

Ease of Use:
The app is pretty easy to use but some navigation flows can be cleared up.
Frequently Used:
The extended features make this app far superior to the default music player, that’s why we frequently use it!
Interface:
The interface is very nice, but scrolling and swiping can become slightly sluggish at times. The icons are intuitive and the UI graphics are black glassy web 2.0 inspired. Nice touch!
