Toy Defense is a fun yet magnificently brutal tower defense game. Instead of the characters and towers appearing to be real, everything is instead played with toy soldiers, toy tanks and so on. While the figures are old fashioned, traditional toys, the action remains very intense, creating a highly addictive and beautifully created freemium game.

Features:
Toy Defense is a cool tower defense game that utilizes all those toy soldiers and tanks that you probably abandoned years ago. The game features wind-up cars, toy planes and gameplay area that looks like it has simply been taken out of a box and unfolded. It should be noted that the animation and graphics in the game are absolutely stunning and the whole game design is superb.
While all this sounds mesmerically cutesy, perhaps even a little Toy Story, this fond nostalgia evaporates when the action starts and, let me tell you now, it’s brutal. You choose between four towers; infantry, artillery, tank and flame thrower. I felt the game was a little limited in that you only have these four towers but these are significantly upgradeable and you also get lots of additional bonus powers to use.

The element that stood out to me was the overall intensity of gameplay, the action consists of all toys but there is no let up in the destruction. It should also be noted how incredible the sound effects are- each unit has its own noise and while many are repeated as you defeat them, you are still rewarded with a nice tapestry of noises that make the game feel immersive and very engaging.
Toy Defense is a freemium game. This essentially means the game is top notch in terms of quality and free to play, but there are opportunities to make purchases in-game. In effect, you buy coins which allow you to buy more upgrades and be more effective in battle. I didn’t find these upgrades massively essential for progress, I was certainly able to complete a number of levels without too much difficulty, but I was losing more and more lives as I progressed.

Fun Factor:
If you enjoy tower defense titles, I’m sure you’ll be impressed with the charm of Toy Defense. It’s very playable and easy to get into.
Addictive:
I’ve played pretty much most of the popular tower defense titles in the Google Play Store and I still managed to get captivated by Toy Defense. I really like the way you can carry over your best towers into the next level for a reduced price and this makes you continually think about completing ‘one more’. Levels are intense, combative and produce full-on battle melee’s that keep you engrossed.
Graphics:
The game is impeccably designed and the graphics are sumptuously detailed throughout. From the individual soldiers movements to the rotating wind-up keys behind each enemy car, the visuals are excellent throughout.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The sound in the game is excellent. You have loads of sound effects and war noises which compliment gameplay, plus a moving sound track of music which works well with the theme of the game.
