The Weather Channel released a weather Android Widget for the home screen to easily see and configure current weather in your location; with quick link to their mobile website for more weather details. You can customize locations with nickname (i.e. Home, Office), automatically follow your location or manually search/set a location, display severe weather notifications with audible and vibration alerts (U.S. locations only). Degrees can be set in Fahrenheit or Celsius.
Gripe Alert: The widget uses 3×2 home screen real estate, so be sure you have enough space for the widget as you cannot configure different sizes. Coming soon, the widget will be available from the their popular native Android App, in the interim… it’s a separate download.

Should you Download The Weather Channel Widget? Sure, Give it a Try!
I’m still looking for a reliable, attractive, customizable weather widget. It is beyond me why Weather Channel’s widget takes up so much freakin’ space!! What gives? It looks like they could trim 3 friggin’ pixels and get it to one row, and there’s enough wasted horizontal space that they could easily get it to 2 columns. This widget is truly bad. Look at all the blank space in that screen shot!
Yep I can see all that wasted space, it shouldn’t take up so much room or memory like you said. It looks boring, but I think they should modenise it. I can’t fit other widgets in ‘coz of the memory/space it takes up but at least it’s free:)
I left this one alone as I wanted an opaque look. This was gaudy.
Yeah I agree with you there, it doesn’t match my phone background at all, I was hoping for the see through effect.
I agree with you guys, but I have this widget powered by Yahoo on my INQ1 by 3, the graphics are OK, with a purple background (Yahoo colour). You can choose from a 2-day view or weekday with pics, (min-max temps included). I’m pretty sure it’s free from the Weather Channel.
