As I wrote a couple of days ago about a rumor going around that Verizon was set to update their Droid family of phones OTA by August 6th to Android 2.2 Froyo. This rumor has turned out to be true, there is a leaked signed official version of the OTA posted on xda-developers site earlier this morning, if you can’t wait another week.

very misleading story. This is not an early leak. This is a link to a cooked ROM for a hacked phone. Nothing like the early downloads of official ROMS. Froyo hacks have been around for a while now.
Understandable that it looks like the ROM is cooked, it’s just to flash the ROM you have to be rooted I apologize for not mentioning that before, but the release is a valid leak signed. I would test it and report how it works but I’m not a member of Verizon.
