TFIFX MT4 droidTrader is a mobile MT4 trading app for TFIFX clients powered by Forex On The Go Technology. This app is for a very specific audience and if you fit that demographic, then this app would be ideal for you.
Price: Free
Tested on: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
Content Rating: Low Maturity
Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Links with your current account for keeping up with trades!
- Allows for Buying and Selling within the app!
- There are a variety of ways to track profits, including several calculators and a variety of charts!
Cons
- It assumes you are already familiar with trading and the tools available, so it doesn’t attempt to explain any of the features.
Features:
I’m going to start this review by saying up front that I have no knowledge, whatsoever, about what MT4 trading is. From what I can gather, it appears to be trading in currencies, but I won’t swear to that. So why am I reviewing this app? Because while odds are good you won’t download this unless you are knowledgeable about MT4 trading, the app itself should stand on its own and be able to at least be navigable for the average person – if it is, then someone who has greater knowledge of the term than the average person will have absolutely no problems with it.
The app itself requires a login, and for the most part, assumes you have an account. It does have a demo server, however, which is accessible right in the app. The catch is that to find a way to get credentials for the demo server to test, it wasn’t hard, but it wasn’t obvious either. A quick email to the developer’s support got me the link to the page where I could create the free demo account, but it did require me finally asking when I couldn’t find it for myself on the company’s main website. I assume if you’re the kind of person who downloads this app in the first place, that you do, in fact, have your own account from which you already buy and sell out of, and therefore this is just a way to track and manage it on the go.
To that end, I was pretty impressed overall with the app. There are a variety of tools, including charts and calculators, to track your profits and calculate various rates. Even for a person not familiar with the market, I didn’t have any problems getting around the app, which speaks to how well it was designed. The fact that you can not only see your account details, but buy and sell directly through the app, rather than being directed to a mobile website, was a big plus in its favor. If you’re going to use an app like this, having everything you need at your fingertips for quick reference, along with the ability to act on that information, is key.
The only real issue I had with it was that the charts, on my tablet, weren’t loading correctly. The app forces portrait mode, and on the bigger screen, this stretched the charts out oddly. They were still readable, but they only filled half the screen and left me wishing I could use landscape mode and view the chart a bit more spread out for easy of use. Ultimately, I could tell it is not optimized for tablets yet, which is a shame. Hopefully an update would correct this.

Usefulness:
If you engage in MT4 trading, and you have an account with TFIFX, then this app will be beyond useful. It will give you a quick way to keep an eye on your account no matter where you are, and take advantage of conditions as they happen. On the flip side, if you don’t meet both of those criteria, this app won’t be useful to you in the slightest. This is a case where the developer has created an app for a very specific audience, and they don’t pretend otherwise, which isn’t a bad thing at all.
Ease of Use:
As I mentioned above, an app should be fairly easy to figure out and use, no matter your level of knowledge about MT4 trading, and this one passed that test. I might not understand all of the terminology, but I was able to navigate the app itself with no problems at all. So for someone who IS the target market, it will be that much more easy to use.
Frequently Used:
Again, this is assuming you are the target market. In that case, you will probably use this app multiple times a day. It is a quick way to view and manage your account.
Interface:
Interface in this case goes along with ease of use – it is laid out in such a way that it is obvious what you’ll find in each section, and if you’re looking for something specific, you won’t have an issue finding it. The app is designed to make it quick and easy for MT4 traders to manage their accounts while mobile.
