Hulu continued it's slow roll-out to Android users this week, with the addition of four more devices to the supported list: the HTC Evo 4G, HTC ThunderBolt, HTC myTouch 4G and G2. These join the Nexus One, Nexus S, HTC Inspire 4G, Motorola Droid II, Motorola Droid X, and the Motorola Atrix for a total of 10 supported phones. We learned recently the DROID X was officially getting the Android 2.1 Froyo update and the goodies it will bring like Adobe Flash in the web browser, automatic app updates, improved Exchange support and more (for a complete list of what's new in Android 2.2 see here). Don't want to wait for the over-the-air update Verizon will be pushing out and install Android 2.2 Froyo on DROID X now... there's a simple way to get it. Simply go to Settings » About phone » System updates to download the 68MB update file to install. Please note: you need the stock DROID X 2.1 Eclair ROM in order to easily do this update. The wait is finally over. Verizon has posted on their support site information on the Froyo update. By the looks of it, the update should hit September 22nd for Droid X users. They've also included instructions on how to perform the update on your device.Read Full Article

Verizon Wireless today announced the Motorola DROID X as the next series in the DROID smartphone saga to launch July 15 for $199. The phone packs a large 4.3 inch display and positioned for superior video capabilities including Blockbuster rentals with HD playback to TV via HDMI out and DLNA. Also comes with 8 megapixel HD camera with dual LED flash. Our prediction of Android 2.2 launch was off as it will launch with Android 2.1 with new custom MotoBlur (Android 2.2 Froyo and Flash update will come "later this summer").
