According to a report by Canalys, Google's Android mobile OS has taken the global smartphone lead shipping more than 33 million in Q4 of 2010 alone (a 615.1% growth from Q4 of 2009; Android shipments in all of 2009 were nearly 8 million). Google, alongside some hefty earnings has reported that the Android Market currently features more than 38 thousand applications (whereas Androlib reports 47 thousand). Just last September that number was reportedly hovering around 10 thousand. Now for all of my analytical friends out there, these numbers mean that the Android Market has grown an astonishing 280% in just under a year... Amazing! If this doesn't show that Android is the next best thing then, we are in the wrong business.Read Full Article

Android has now expanded its long armed reach and influence outside of the U.S. market to 46 countries, up from just 25 a few short weeks ago. The Android market has also introduced support for paid apps in its Canada and Australia markets as well on top of the rapid growth of free apps already available in the marketplace. Some of the countries joining the Android movement are Brazil, Israel, and Thailand. I wonder where they will venture next?Read Full Article

Flash on the web has been the dominate medium for rich media experiences; seen in video streaming sites like YouTube and Vimeo, interactive websites, online ads and thousands of online games. With the release of Adobe's latest version of Flash, they plan to target most mobile platforms (excluding iPhone for the time being) using Adobe AIR.
