Verizon Wireless today announced the Motorola DROID X as the next series in the DROID smartphone saga to launch July 15 for $199. The phone packs a large 4.3 inch display and positioned for superior video capabilities including Blockbuster rentals with HD playback to TV via HDMI out and DLNA. Also comes with 8 megapixel HD camera with dual LED flash. Our prediction of Android 2.2 launch was off as it will launch with Android 2.1 with new custom MotoBlur (Android 2.2 Froyo and Flash update will come "later this summer"). Other hardware includes 8GB of memory on board and a 16GB card (Expandable to 40GB with a 32GB card), and 3 microphones; one for video, one for voice, and one for noise cancellation.Read Full Article
