Samsung Mobile and Verizon Wireless announced pricing and availability for the Samsung Galaxy Tab. The Galaxy Tab with Verizon will be available November 11, 2010 for $599.99. We've know about it for some time but today Verizon officially announces their first mobile tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab, will launch on their wireless network in the coming weeks. In fact, Samsung will launch the tablet for all four major U.S. carriers. The tablet has an enhanced TFT display at 7 inches, not the beautiful and brilliant Super AMOLED display that we hoped for, running Android 2.2 (Froyo) so it supports Adobe Flash in the web browser and corporate email among other features, front and rear facing camera and camcorders, Samsung 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor, 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, 2 GB internal memory with 16 GB pre-installed microSD card expandable to 32 GB.Read Full Article
Looking at a few minimum recommendations when buying an Android Tablet discussed are: Android 3.0, Multi-Touch Support, Decent Pixel Resolution, Ample Internal Memory or Memory Card Slot, Fast Enough Processor, Camera, USB Port(s) and more. If you look at the market today, it would seem that an Android tablet is something yet to come. And while that is true for the most part, you can buy Android tablets as we speak from many sources. Sure, they may not be brand names, but the prices are attractive, and... they are available. Dell will finally be releasing their highly anticipated tablet phone the Dell Streak sometime in the next week or so. Dell released an official statement regarding the tablet/phone device making the expected release date a reality. The Archos 7 Home Tablet won't ship to the U.S. until early June, and those who pre-ordered might get theirs before the end of May (fingers crossed). The 7-inch Android tablet ships with an older version of Android (1.6) and will not have access to the Android Market. :( However will have Archos own AppsLib store of Android Apps with a few pre-installed; like eBuddy and Aldiko eBook Reader. In CarryPad's live blog coverage of the WePad conference today we learned of new specs, pricing and initial launch date. The WePad is an Android tablet with 11.6 inch touch screen display, 1.66GHz Intel Atom processor, 16GB of flash storage, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1, and 1.3 megapixel camera starting at €449 ($611 USD) in July 2010.
