Sprint release an update from the HTC Evo on September 22nd (version 3.29.651.5) that included a few small features. On their support site, they only outline calendar and multiple gmail account sync fixes. Of course, the moment I saw the notification I jumped on the opportunity to download it. After the install, I notice the device's animations had become more fluid and faster. I downloaded the application called "FPS2D" to test the framerate which was originally blocked at 30 fps. Behold, I achieved an average of 53 frames per second during the test!Read Full Article

We learned recently the DROID X was officially getting the Android 2.1 Froyo update and the goodies it will bring like Adobe Flash in the web browser, automatic app updates, improved Exchange support and more (for a complete list of what's new in Android 2.2 see here). Don't want to wait for the over-the-air update Verizon will be pushing out and install Android 2.2 Froyo on DROID X now... there's a simple way to get it. Simply go to Settings » About phone » System updates to download the 68MB update file to install. Please note: you need the stock DROID X 2.1 Eclair ROM in order to easily do this update. Unfortunately that update was a bit premature and some Nexus One owners are experiencing issues, including this owner who's having trouble accessing some apps in the Market. :( This is why Google pulled the update from their servers. After countless missed release dates for the Android 2.1 update 1 release for the HTC Hero, a leaked version has made its way on the Internet. After push backs with many other phones anticipating the new Android 2.1 software. There is an official update for the Samsung Moment at Sprint's support website. This will NOT be an over-the-air update, you have to get it yourself, it will require wiping your phone, plus you must visit Sprint's support site for detailed instructions to do it yourself. Sucks as many Moment owners won't have a clue they can get the update via a notification unless they find out on Android sites like ours.Read Full Article
