Ex-AbMob and Google employees looked at the holes in the, infancy staged, mobile advertising vertical and started another start-up called MoPub; a one-stop shop ad server designed to help mobile app publishers manage and monetize their ad inventory on iOS and Android devices. Backed by the same folks who backed AdMob and Facebook, Accel Partners, the new ad network aims to differentiate by offering a more efficient market, greater ad revenues for application publishers, and happier end users with MoPub Marketplace. Marketplace is the first self-service, real-time bidding platform for mobile advertising, aimed at giving publishers access to new sources of revenue through a competitive auction, while enabling them to retain complete control and transparency.Read Full Article

Sources have been reporting that Facebook is not only building a platform but is also building a phone, according to TechCrunch. Verizon is luring Android developers to submit their apps to their new V Cast Apps store launching soon. If done right, the V Cast App store can offer great benefits to both consumers and developers as billing would go directly to the customer's cell bill. The folks who make the Archos tablets based on Google's Android operating system have created AppsLib, an alternative market for downloading Android apps to the device will offer paid apps on August 2nd in addition to the 2,000+ free apps in their catalog. This is great news for owners of the devices as well as wireless carriers whom adopted Android outside of the U.S. and Europe that do not have access to paid applications as of yet. Some of us lucky folks are enjoying Android 2.2 on our Nexus One phones. :P We want to take advantage of "Move App to SD Card" feature in the software build but run into a snag as Google made it so developers have to enable the feature.
