Features:
Sudoku Pro by Devarai gives you all the excuse to migrate all your Sudoku puzzle playtime towards your mobile. So you can play varied puzzles of different difficulty levels from easy to insane, and rank your times and completions against games you play locally or others online in the leaderboards. I say you can migrate solely towards mobile as you have gameplay techniques just as when you play with pen and pad. Therefore, if you’re a typical player like myself you tend to draw little “possible” numbers in empty squares as you work on other regions. This can be done with this game by toggling the Pencil icon to fill in possible numbers. Pen numbers are those you are sure about, but can surely change them if needed. Also helpful is the feature that highlights all of the same numbers in all regions to make things easier to see. Just as you can add numbers by selecting a square then choose a number on the lower row, you can use the eraser tool to remove numbers. Lastly, there is a Hint feature that gives you limited freebies by revealing numbers (use wisely when stuck).
A cool stand out feature is that you can use the app to Capture a puzzle in a newspaper for instance, and continue the puzzle within the app! For example, in Chicago, there’s a small paper, the Red Eye that features a radio deejay in which you try to beat his time in the daily puzzles. This app would allow you to still compete with those offline puzzles, plus track your time for you (though you loose the Pencil and Hints feature). It’s just a neat feature to modernize the age-old game. Although this sounds cool in theory, I found it difficult to capture unless I zoomed extremely close to the puzzle, tried numerous time, even then it placed a bunch of numbers on the board that I had to clean up, else the other starter numbers captured fine.
