Features:
Sticky Blocks is a new twist on an old classic game. Essentially it’s block slide puzzles, where you have to free a certain piece by moving others around, these types of games have been with us since long before the digital age. And there have been some pretty decent takes at the genre on Android and other platforms. But Sticky Blocks brings a new element to the game – instead of just moving pieces around, if they get close to each other, they “stick“, creating larger, more difficult pieces to move around. This means that you really have to think about each move you’re going to make, because you can’t just move the piece back if it doesn’t work.
I liked the challenge of the added sticky element. They also added hidden items, like butterflies, that you can try to uncover and collect, as well as a variety of achievements you can try to unlock, in addition to just moving through the levels. I always like when games offer multiple ways to track progress like this, since it keeps it interesting for longer.
If I had to complain about anything, it would be that, especially in the lower levels, it can get a bit repetitive. The lower levels are easier, so don’t require as much thought, which is a good thing for teaching you the game mechanics and letting you get used to playing it without getting frustrated. However at the same time, I wanted the difficulty level to ramp up a bit more quickly. I found myself getting bored about 10 or so levels in, because it was starting to feel like I was playing the same level over and over.
One positive point is that the game offers full tablet support. I tend to want to play games on the larger screen, so this was a huge bonus for me. A lot of games will work on the tablet with the built-in ability to zoom in and increase the size, but you do loose some resolution that way. This game was designed to be played on tablets though, so it works flawlessly and looks beautiful.

Sticky Blocks Levels
Fun Factor:
This is the type of puzzle games that appeals to causal gamers. If you like the block slide type of puzzle, you’re going to love Sticky Blocks, since it really does take that genre to a new level.
Addictive:
Even with the levels starting to get a little repetitive, I still kept playing, which says something. With the addition of things to uncover and unlock, the game does a good job of balancing various elements. It’s the type of game you’ll have a hard time putting down. “Just one more level” was what I found myself repeating frequently.
Graphics:
This isn’t an RPG or a game that requires a high level of graphics. That being said, the game does look great, and the effects on the “sticky” blocks that can stick to each other is a nice touch. I thought overall the game did a good job of balancing the simple look and feel with the gameplay.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The soundtrack isn’t bad, what I would call elevator music, with sound effects for the various pieces as you move them around, and a woman’s voice who comments on your progress after each level. It didn’t add or subtract anything from the game, to be honest. I ended up muting it since the “Not bad” and “Great jobs” started to get a little annoying after a while.
