A few months back at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona Sprint launched it’s 4G Overdrive mobile hotspot hub. Today at CTIA Wireless they launched the HTC Evo 4G Android smartphone! We had a first hand preview of the phone and some of it’s features and must honestly say it is a total mobile multimedia hub. This phone has by far the most capabilities of an Android phone to date… trumps the Nexus One. We recently asked consumers and developers what 4G Android apps can they ponder with these speeds in the U.S. and the HTC Evo will soon make those ideas possible.

Specs

Diving right into the impressive specs, the HTC Evo has:

  • Android 2.1 platform with HTC Sense user experience with Friend Stream
  • Blazing-fast 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
  • 8.0 megapixel auto-focus camera with 720p HD-capable video camcorder
  • Forward-facing 1.3 megapixel camera (can someone say video chats and connected mobile video gaming???)
  • Large vibrant 4.3 inch touch screen display
  • It even has a built in mobile hotspot allowing up to 8 Wifi devices to connect
  • 3.5 mm headset jack and HDMI output
  • Will have Adobe Flash built-in
  • It even has a kickstand

It will release in the Summer of 2010 and Sprint saved some goodies so we’ll find out first hand what they are when we get our hands on it. What are your thoughts… comment below?

  1. Thanks. The HTC Evo looks seriously impressive. Wonder how it will compare with the next gen iPhone.

YES!!! i have the EVO and my girl has the iphone, and let me tell you…. she is very jealous of me and wants my phone. the new iphone doesnt really bring anything eye popping to the table, aside from the front facing camera (which the EVO already has) so i believe the EVO is indeed a better device than the iphone
