Features:

SoundHound is an awesome app, very much like Shazam, which can listen to and identify music; however SoundHound goes a step farther by allowing you to identify songs by singing it, humming the tune, typing or speaking into the phone! Available for both Android and iPhone, once a song is tagged you get access to a lot of info about the artist including bio, related songs, and videos, option to buy the song with link to Amazon MP3 store, social sharing options, and lyrics if available.

The free version of the app gives you up to 5 tags a month when you allow it to listen, you sing or hum for identification but typing in or voice searching the song title are unlimited. Opting for the paid version, SoundHound ∞ (Infinity), is a one time free of $4.99 with unlimited tagging and no ads.

Usefulness:

SoundHound features are not only useful for when you don’t know that song and want to find out what it is but have serious WOW factor! Plus there are instances where you know the tune or can sing some of the lyrics but just can’t think of the song or artist… SoundHound can identify pretty accurately by that.

Ease of Use:

Easy… either click the “Tap Here” button to let the app listen to the music, you sing the lyrics, hum it, type it or say the song title.

Frequently Used:

Way faster than Shazam! Better interface and the song database grows daily!!

First app I was gladly willing and even eager to BUY!!

Not really a hound, more of a half-grown pup. This is certainly not for bluegrass fans, nor I suspect for anyone over 50. Remember, us geezers have money to spend, and none of it goes for Beyonce or Bieber. It would not ID even the most common Bill Monroe tunes.

  Bill Monroe died 15 years ago at age 85. It’s a shame that Sound Hound can’t identify him. But… I am over 50, and have tried Sound Hound on a lot of obscure music, and it gets it right almost all of the time.

My goodness. And congradulations on such a app The Sound Hound. I was a sh for a short time in the early 60s but left this and joined the Navy, only after entering the service did I ch again in Adam Alaska, only during the year tour. At any rate, I have tons of music that I am copying to a I pod, my the modern technology, but some of the songs I did not know the title or artist and year. I was listening to the lyrics and going to the Webb searching, taking great amounts of time. I began looking for something that could listen and tell Mr this information, first one tried didn’t work, Dont recall the name, then Sound Hound came up as a app, wow, in seconds holding the phone to the speaker and the correct name and title shows up, would had never dreamed that some old doo wop music would show up, and very accurate too. All were correct. Good job you all. I am ready to subscribe. Paul C. Loehr
