Snowflakes Live Wallpaper is, well, a live wallpaper that features snowflakes. For many people, especially perhaps at this time of the year, this sounds like a great idea to give your Android a scrumptiously winter feel- in which case this will be right up your Christmas Tree. If not, however, and the thought of cute snowflakes littering your home screen makes you snort with derision, just hold fire there Scrooge, there’s a while lot more under the hood…

Features:
Snowflakes Live Wallpaper is a great example of the very best Live Wallpapers available in the Android Market. For me a good LWP will have lots of customization, look great, have smooth performance and just have the wow factor that makes your device stand out from the crowd. Snowflakes’ does all these things very well indeed. Now, to be honest, the cutesy snowflakes the default wallpaper shows might not be your cup of tea regardless of how festive you might be feeling. However the app has a few other presets that might suit you better…
Bucks Fizz is a kind of celebratory champagne bubble effect which looks quite cool. Traditional gives you a series of Christmassy figures; snowmen, reindeer, Xmas trees and Santa’s. Sleek is a more realistically clumpy kind of snowflake that silently falls down your screen, while Androids! is a cool descending army of little green robots! Now, I’m sure at least one of these might get your approval
There are loads of customizations here too, so you can really make the wallpaper your own, rather than it being the same as every other user who downloads it. For example, you can change the background pattern and there are few different types you can choose from. Then, just about every other facet of the wallpaper can be tweaked and edited; such as the ability to change colours, speed, volume of flakes, size, opacity and fade- the choice is yours. One nice feature is the scrolling effects, swipe your home screens from side to side and the flakes will be dragged along either way, this looks relatively interactive and well designed.
It’s not quite perfection for me (although it’s close). Despite all the options and customizations, there’s no way to save your created wallpapers. So, if you fancy a change you have to lose all your tweaks in favour of new settings. It’s a shame really, but perhaps not something that detracts hugely from the look and feel of the app itself.

Usefulness:
To give your device that wintry and festive look, this is a great app. Towards the end of October there was a smorgasbord of pretty cool Halloween-related apps, and Snowflakes Live Wallpaper is a great choice if you want to give your Android a Christmassy look.
Ease of Use:
There are lot of options to choose from, but it’s quite straightforward to change and tweak the look of the wallpaper. It’s definitely worth experimenting to get it looking just right for you. This is easy to do in the app and intuitive. Just note, your creations are not saved to quickly return to… you must recreate them.
Frequently Used:
This might well be something you create and only change again when you start taking your seasonal decorations down. Obviously the app runs in the background, and you might want to change things around a bit depending on your mood, and to keep it fresh. It is a shame you can’t save, or create new pre-sets here, in which case you might have been inclined to tweak the app more- without fear of losing all your settings.
Interface:
The interface is typically Android-menu style, which should be familiar and straightforward to understand for all but the most technophobic user.
