Last month we told you about Snaptic and HopeLab “Move Your App” Developer’s Challenge to encourage Android developers to create apps for physical activities. The winners have been announced and most of the apps are in the Android Market to download. Here are the winners and brief app description:
1st Place Pickup Sports, Peter Ma of Los Angeles, CA.
Pickup Sports is for you to find pick up games in your local areas, basketball 3 on 3, football 5 on 5. With this app, your sport activities can never be easier. Now you’ll never have to worry about going to park not finding anybody to play with.
2nd Place Dr. Detective, Seattle WA. Developer: Bitstudio
As a detective with a doctorate in takin’ names, you pride yourself in finding clues, solving them, and closing cases. Doctor, can you solve the puzzle behind the murder mystery at Sunnytown University?
3rd Place Wagz, Atlanta GA. Developer: Conroy Whitney
Wagz is a virtual dog who you take for a *real* walk every day. The longer you walk him, the happier he is. The more frequently you walk him, the more he loves you! Wagz will remind you when it is time to go for a walk every day so that you do not forget about him!
4th Place (tie) 5 Minutes Break, Hungary. Developer: HelloAndroid
Move Your body, Move Your app. 5 Minutes Break is a game, that requires you to do regular excersises, while holding your Android device in your hand. It tracks your physical movement and compares it to the “perfect” move.
4th Place (tie) WalkArt, Cambridge UK. Developer: Stefan Fidanov
