AndroidTapp.com Android App Review:
SnapTell Android App… the app name says it all. Take a snap of something and let SnapTell tell you where and for how much you can get it. Yes, you heard it right, you take a photo of the cover page of a book and SnapTell will do the rest. For a moment there just like all of you non-believers I thought how is that possible!! Well SnapTell maintains a extensive database of merchandise of all sorts that helps it fetch the details of the commodity in the photo. Simple, the trick is in the development and maintenance of a database like this. We will leave that work to the good and smart SnapTell folks.
Features:
This app is aimed directly at shoppers and shopaholics. The developers made the adage “A Picture is worth thousand words” come true digitally.

Interface:
The app’s interface is very simple. Nothing fancy.
Touching the camera icon will start the camera to snap the picture of the item.

Here is SnapTell in action taking the picture of an Excel book.

Then the image is sent to the server for possible matches…

…and voila!!! The results… it’s that simple folks. Take a look at the screen shots of this app using the bar code scanner for the same book…

Usefulness:
Very useful for all those shoppers with a G1.
Ease of Use:
Take a look at the screenshots, it cannot get simpler than this. But if you don’t have steady hands for snapping pictures and not enough patience to let the bar code get scanned, well good luck…
