Smart Volume Control+ is a powerful app that helps you manage your sound profiles. If you’re someone who gets woken up by middle of the night emails on your Android device or are perpetually being told by your boss or teacher to turn off your phone (due to it beeping frequently during the day), it’s perhaps a good idea to use a handy profiling app to help you navigate these kind of problems. Smart Volume Control+ looks incredibly slick and is extremely easy to use, so read on for more.

Features:
There is a proliferation in the Google Play Store of profiling applications- apps that allow your phone to behave in a far smarter way. For example, you surely don’t want to be woken up by your Android device when you receive an email right? Neither do you want your phone to go off during a meeting, or when you’re in class taking a test. So apps like Smart Volume Control + can be configured so such things do not happen.
The easiest application is making sure that during the night your phone goes on silent mode- so as not to wake you. You can easily set the silent hours and your phone, from then on, will switch to that mode between those hours. Smart Volume Control + goes several steps further than this though, and allows for all manner of ‘triggers’ to control your sound profiles. For example, you might want your device to ring at a louder volume if you’re cycling, or perhaps you want it set to vibrate when you’re driving. You can set all such responses in Smart Volume Control +. To be fair to the application though, this still on scratches the surface, simply put it is a powerful tool that manages every aspect of your devices sound, genuinely making your device ‘smarter’.
The app is, of course, hugely customisable- both from the profiles themselves down to the colour scheme of the numerous homescreen widgets available. Besides volumes, other features can be controlled such as WiFi, Bluetooth and screen brightness. Your device can be set to switch to various profiles based not only on time but also location, speed you are travelling and calendar events- so this can mean your phone will know you’re in a meeting and so not disturb you.
There are a whopping 23 different widgets to install on your homescreen so you can have immediate access to different volume settings. These widgets are customisable and come is a range of sizes based on your requirements- from simple toggles to more interactive switches. There are some genuinely fantastic apps available which perform a similar function; Tasker is perhaps the best known, but you’ll find Smart Volume Control + to not only be far easier to use, but it also includes a gorgeous user interface (Tasker is very powerful, but it’s a bit of an ugly duckling in that regard). So, if you want something powerful, useful, customisable, accessible and yet also looks the part, you can’t go far wrong with Smart Volume Control +.

Usefulness:
The app is incredibly useful and lets you control your volume profiles in minute detail. You no longer have to be disturbed from your sleep, a meeting or a lecture. It can be set to ensure headphone volumes are appropriate for the speed you are travelling and even recognize via your calendar when you are busy and go on silent accordingly.
Ease of Use:
The apps ease-of-use sets it apart compared to the likes of Tasker- which, while an awesome app, can be a little complex to use. Navigating through the app is very intuitive and setting up profiles in comparatively simple.
Frequently Used:
This might well be an app you ultimately use more than most others. Essentially though you can set up the profiles you need and then the app will run on its own in the background, responding to your circumstances.
Interface:
The interface is extremely polished and just looks great. The widgets can be customised and tweaked to suit your homescreen and the entire app feels high quality. While similar apps- like Tasker and MacroDroid work well, I think they look a little “Fro-Yo” in their design. Smart Volume Control + however is a plush modern equivalent that looks far slicker.
