Pros
Slacker Radio Android App streams high quality music to your Android phone with predefined stations you can listen to or create your own. An awesome Pro feature is Station Cache; download an entire station to SD card in the background and listen later without any Internet or data connection (for Android 2+ phones). Like Last.fm Personal Radio and Pandora Radio similar artists or genres stream on a station; also there are unlimited skips of songs (up to 6 with free version) and no commercials with the Plus version. Most songs have album art, reviews and bios, add stations to Favorites, and send stations to a friends.
Slacker Radio provides an awesome music experience on Android. Music lovers will definitely appreciate an app that gives access to their favorite artist while on the go.
The app is straight forward and works like most media player apps for Android. Requires a Slacker Radio account before you can start streaming music. Be sure to enter to win a free Slacker Radio account we’re giving away.
The user interface is slick; optimal mobile streaming music player.

Love the app. Use it daily.
The app is great. Station caching makes it more versatile than competing apps.
But how is it compared to last.fm and Pandora (the other two I hear a lot about)/
what are the advantages (if any) over pandora?
The range of artists is much better on Slacker vs Pandora. The tracks go deeper into some albums too from what I’ve seen. I like Slacker MUCH better than Pandora. Pandora and Last.FM are great for finding similar artists to a particular artist or sub-genre of music your looking for, but overall, I think Slacker is better for general music listening.
Also, I don’t think the cache is 2.0+ only, I have the Samsung Moment (which is 1.5?) and have the option for the cache. Not sure if it’s the cache or the quality of service that Slacker has, but I can travel all over the place with Slacker in my truck and almost never miss a beat. Can’t say the same for Pandora or Last.FM apps on Android while traveling with spotty signals.
I have downloaded the app for my android x. And when I try to use it I keep getting an error message. what’s wrong.
