Skyfire just released version 2.1 of its browser software for Android smartphones offering the ability for all Android phones to view Flash video (not just early Froyo adapters). In the video above the show tests how their software outperforms native Flash 10.1 in terms of video quality, battery life and speed. Skyfire plays Flash video by transcoding video files into HTML5 in the cloud and optimizing them for mobile delivery. Skyfire’s cloud technology means videos play faster and smoother, with less buffering, less “stuttering”, and better battery life.
In just six weeks, Skyfire activations have reached the top 0.7% among all the 65,000 apps on the Android Market, adding over 500,000 new users. For an in-depth evaluation at the app with video, take a look at our Android app review of Skyfire Browser.
