Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Incredibly fast gameplay.
- Hilarious sound effects
- Great music score.
- Highly addictive.
- Brilliant and funny graphics.
- Extensive range of achievements to unlock.
Cons
- Lacks OpenFeint scoring.
- Does become a little repetitive after a while.
You know that feeling when you’re plummeting out of the sky at terminal velocity, panicked slightly by the fact that you just collided with a raven and now you’ve lost both your legs, but that’s the least of your worries because you are moments away from hitting the blades of a helicopter? No? Well then maybe you haven’t played Skydiver HD.
Skydiver HD places you as a skydiver falling through the sky. It’s OK though, because obviously you have a parachute. However, lots of things are going to try and stop your gentle decent. Birds for one, but add to that helicopters, fighter jets and fellow parachutists and things start to get tricky.
Features:
The blisteringly fast and fluid gameplay is complimented by genuinely funny sound effects and cool music. Scoring is achieved by staying alive and collecting crates which add to your total. Suddenly lost your parachute by smashing into a helicopter? No problem, get a new one by stealing it from another skydiver. What’s better is that you also get his legs. Yes, that’s right, you get his legs.
The sound effects are hilarious as your smart-ass little skydiving dudes’ repertoire of “Oh Yeah”, “We’re cruisin’”, “My goodness!” and “What was that?!” accentuates his cataclysmic fall.

Fun Factor:
Skydiver HD is utterly brilliant fun to play. I was hooked in my first go. You get a feeling of genuine jeopardy for your little character, despite the fact he’s a quirky little fellow.
Addictive:
I do not say this lightly. Skydiver HD is incredibly addictive. When you get well and truly taken out the first time, you’ll know you can do better next time. And this is what pushes you on… doing better and better. The screen gets very cluttered with limbs, feathers, helicopters… more feathers, crates, fighter jets and more, so the game is very fraught in a very good way.
There is also various achievements you can unlock such as stealing 10 limbs from other divers in the game or losing both your legs. All this adds to a thoroughly enjoyable experience that you’ll return to over and over again.
Graphics:
The graphics are cartoony, but very smoothly animated. Look out for the gushing blood when you lose an arm, and the explosion of feathers when a bird accidentally smashes into a fighter jet.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
As already mentioned, sound is first rate and a real highlight of the game. The effects and dialogue has been written with real humour and adds a great deal to the game experience.
