  • Integrates with existing SIRIUS XM Radio subscription
  • Of course streams music in the background, thus you can multi-task and listen

Cons

  • Song tagging (however not updated with every song)

This App ROCKS! I’ve been a Siruis subscriber for some time and this app is one of the “Most Usefull” Apps I’ve got.

This app sucks. Does not work on 3g, only wifi. Does not have Howard Stern, so I am still forced to steal the show, despite paying for both a car subscription and premium internet subscription. Please get your stuff together Sirius. I find myself still listening to Pandora and shoutcast while at work, which I can get on 3g.

Maybe the others are on AT&T or something. I have Verizon and have this app on my DROID. I can confirm that it works over 3G. I’ve used it while driving or running.

However, that being said, the quality of the stream is terrible. Seriously, I cannot believe they are now charging to use this in addition to a sat radio. I wouldn’t recommend this at all.

How does this get a 4.3 out of 5? ARE YOU KIDDING ME PEOPLE? It cuts out, muffles etc… More like a 1.5-2 out of5.

    Did androidtapp even use this?

Yes Androidtapp thoroughly evaluated the app just as we do all other app reviews. We don’t become the world’s leader with the best reputation doing it any other way. That said, our experience with the app and it’s features, music selection, and stream quality were excellent hence why it rated well. Sorry you didn’t have the same experience, but that was a gripe you should have contacted Sirius about. I’m pretty sure they could help you with it.

Does anyone have an issue with the program repeating. After listening for a while, the station will repeat about 20 seconds of programming and stay in a loop of only that 20 seconds of the program…

This might sound trivial but have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app? Be sure to clear the cache as well when you uninstall. See if that works!

Yes. I have the same problem. It just repeats the same loop over and over. I have had this app for awhile and have not really taken the time to figure out why it does this and I am a little suprised this problem has not been fixed yet. Any ideas out there as to why this app would continoulsy repeat the same, approx., 30 seconds of a program?

When my phone upgraded the app started the repeating problem. That was about a week and a half ago. My wife’s was working fine but her phone updated on Friday and now her app doesn’t work either. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn’t help. Presumably, there’s some interface issue with the software.

This app sucks. Aside from the fact that you have to pay an extra $2.99 a MONTH to use it, you also don’t get to listen to the Stern Channels.

On my Windows mobile phone I can listen to ALL channels for FREE without having to pay the additional fee. This is the only reason that Sirius is worth the cost to me. I only listen to it in my car going to and from work and on weekends.

Now that the Windows Mobile phone broke and Sirius wants an extra 36 bucks a year on top of an already expensive subscription price, I think I’ll be letting it go when my contract expires at the end of December.

My Captivate does some amazing things (though not quite everything my WM6.5 phone did) and I can use it listen to Stern for free through various means. I wanted to support Sirius because I believed it was a good product. But the value of that product has continued to diminish year by year and it’s no longer worth it to me.

My phone gets the EXACT SAME INTERNET as my home PC. It shouldn’t matter what I choose to listen to it on. Hell, my PC even has a better sound system. Why can I listen on that for free but on my phone I have to pay an additional 36 bucks a month PLUS the cost of my data plan?? #^@% off Sirius.

    I’m done.

XM Sirius will have an update September 14, 2010 at 1:00 PM to fix this problem. Make sure you are using Version 2.2 on your phone, as I think its the only one they are updating.

I have had the repeat problem on my HTC EVO and I can only listen for under five minutes or so usually before it stops all together…sometimes it will start back up, but I often have to close the app and then re-open. this is with wifi, 3 and 4g service.

I am rethinking paying for this on my phone as it is extremely frusterating when I am following news stories and I miss large parts of it.

I use this app on the HTC HERO. (3G) Works okay, but often stops and then i have to hit the red button or end call button to reactivate it and it usually comes back on. Weird. May have something to do with notifications or the security screen?? It also stops because of inactivity? which is odd because if u are listening to the radio, u are not going to be very active with your phone. Also, why arent the stations listed with numbers so I can know what number the station is so i can also set my car radio with it? Just names? Come on. It isnt bad.. just wish it ran continuously. I like the sports stations although the hosts can clown around a bit too much at times. Not sure why people say they dont want to pay for it on their phone. I thought u just pay for the online subscription and then it comes free on your phone with the app?
