Simple Widget Pack is exactly what the name implies. The set includes 4 Android Widgets for the desktop: temperature, battery status, time and date (the latter two are least necessary). Battery and temperature icon widgets consumes only a 1×1 grid (space for 1 icon), while time and date widgets consume 2×1 (space for 2 icons).
With these widgets you can change the background and text color. Temperature widget; configure your location for weather plus set update intervals (recommended longer intervals to conserve battery life). Time widget; set 12/24 hour clock format with quick link to open Alarm Clock app. Date widget; offers a quick link to the Calendar app.
Unfortunately Simple Widget Pack is not compatible with alternative home screen apps such as aHome or Open Home as they have their own proprietary Widgets that can downloaded from the Android Market. These widgets must be used with the default home screen. Though not the prettiest, they’re fast and functional.

nah, such a simple app should be free…
If you could choose the font type and size, and left/centre/right alignment + could control the amount of space between the top of the widget and the text. And also type out custom time / date format strings
.eg
‘the time is’ HH
‘and’ MM ‘mins’
I would buy this app for triple the price.
As it is there are better free apps that do more.
