Shooting Warrior is an eclectic adventure of attacking and defending your base from evil natives of an island. It’s a frenzied multi-tasker which demands swift actions in loading various troops of different skills and attack levels, fighting their way to the end of level base-boss. There are weapons and heros to unlock, power-ups, coins to collect and hidden bonus levels. Let’s delve more into the app review!

Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Quite the challenge and can be very addictive!
Cons
- Initially difficult to grasp the tutorial due to language translation issues.
Features:
Shooting Warrior struck me as very odd at first glance, there are some text instructions within the game that do not makes sense, and the promo video below only does it more injustice. However, once you get into the game it’s pretty easy to figure out and understand what the goal is and how best to achieve it.
As the story goes, you’ve landed on an island at the emperors command, thinking everything is peachy keen only to learn the natives are attacking to run you off (if you examine from another angle you’re attacking them for their land… sound familiar?) I digress, you have an army of soldiers with various skill sets which must be unlocked. They range from slower basic close distance attacking soldiers, to faster donkey-mounted swordsmen, to short range archers, to potion flinging magicians, etc. You are granted a horse-mounted Knight ‘hero’ from the start which has high HP and attack damage (use him selectively, for if he is killed in battle it can be quite expensive to earn enough coins to rebirth him). The knight is controlled by a directional arrow, so you can have him lead the charge or have him hang back while your pawns do majority of the attacking.
As you play and earn coins or decide to pay real money to ramp up progress and purchase in-game items, you will want to pay attention to the cannon section and beef up your shooter. Your soldiers hit the field by being shot out of a canon… yes, shot out of a canon, and the more powerful- the faster you can launch them for attack.
While on the battlefield, just as you can add new soldiers and power them up, your enemy can as well. Such as super long range archer canons, freeze potion voodoo men, egg flinging chickens, boss lions, dragons and more. In some levels it can become quite the challenge to overcome them. Add to that, there are elements in the background that serve as hazards to your army; such as over-grown plants that periodically devour your clan. My best tactic I’ve found was to ensure a large barrage of soldiers were always on the field, while using my knight selectively to charge in and use his fireball or fury and get him out if he takes too much damage.

Fun Factor:
In my opinion the game is more challenging than fun, as you have to multi-task your hoard based on your army’s strengths & weaknesses. I believe this may be a fun title for gamers who enjoy tower defense games.
Addictive:
Shooting Warrior can be very addictive, especially after you’re leading a charge and make it to the end base only to be overpowered, run back and defeated. It draws out that competitive edge in you to play again and again!
Graphics:
The graphics are bright, with an anime cartoony aspect, in my opinion could be more crisp… but the theme definitely works for the mood of the game.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The game is controlled on-screen and features a few background tracks which can be toggled in the settings menu. There is one track, a jazzy number, that just doesn’t suit the game. Just a small personal gripe, as it sticks out and makes you want to mute it.
