Screebl is an application that controls power saving features of your phone based on orientation. Never have the screen blank again while using your phone, and SAVE BATTERY at the same time. It’s possible with Screebl!

Pros
Cons
Screebl Android App monitors the axis orientation of your Android phone to determine how long/short your screen timeout should be. You can leave the defaults or it can be configured in the Settings menu for better control. Know that you’re phone is in/out of orientation with an Android notification in the status window shade (green is within and grey is outside of orientation).

Screebl Android App was invented because it is useful for extending screen timeout without manually increasing it. Say you’re reading a long email, you typically want to have the display time longer, however when the phone is flat like lying on the table it is typically fine to allow shorter screen timeout.
Screebly Android App works out-of-the-box, however you can tweak the settings to better suit your needs.
If used, it is active every time you use your Android phone.

The best part of this app is the “in-call” features. Having the phone blank the screen when I lift it to my face, but then show the dial-pad when I pull it away is reason enough to use it! I dig the configurability of this app in general.
It’s not a perfect solution yet, but the dev is very responsive and seems dedicated. You should definitely give Screebl a try!
New version of Screebl has some cool new features. The review (or “roast”) on http://www.approasters.com covers the new features really well.
How do you set it so when you lay the phone flat the screen times out after 2 or 3 seconds??
I use PdaNet to tether my Vibrant with a MacBook Pro. I need this for my job as a reporter for a news service. Today I couldn’t tether. I kept getting an error message Phone Not Attached. The only thing new on the phone was Screebl. I uninstalled it and tethering resumed. So if you use PdaNet, I advise against Screebl.
With Screebl (even pro), the screen lock timer does not seem to work. Screen timeout has an effect but not the screen lock timer. So currently my screen lock when it goes dark… I have installed autolock and it works.
Samsung-Galaxy-Teos – Android 2.1-update1.
Also I found it is difficult to understand the effect of each parameter…
I had read on a thread somewhere that this would help with the Fascinate issue of locking and blanking the screen when on a call. Unfortunately it doesn’t do anything for the issue, but is a decent app, and hope that once the issue is resolved, I can really enjoy the benefits of this app.
It would appear that the next update for the D2 is going to b 3.0.0. I am currently running it now.
Screebl is now working correctly with this version. It’s not turning off the screens when you lay it flat. That can cause some battery juice to get sucked upl.
You may want to look into this so you can get the next update ready.
Love this app – but I have 2 recommendations… 1.) longer than 10 minute timeouts, and 2.) no timeout when connected to external power.
