School Scheduler is a handy and attractively designed productivity app aimed at students. With a new semester on the horizon School Scheduler can help high school pupils and college students get themselves organised. It lets you add courses, classes and tasks in a sharp user-friendly interface that encourages you to be more organised.

Content Rating: Everyone
Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Helps you store lots of handy information about your courses, etc!
- Syncs with Google Calendar!
- User-friendly interface!
Cons
- Could perhaps be improved with a widget.
- No reminders.
Features:
School Scheduler is a nice little app for helping students get more organised. It lets you add the courses you are taking, as well as the individual classes and assignments that are required of you. It all syncs nicely with Google Calendar too so you’ll always be able to stay on track.
University courses can, of course, include a great number of lecture halls, classrooms, different buildings and lecturers, in addition to each having assignments, seminars, presentations to prepare and reading to do. If you’re going to stay on top of all this, and haven’t got the most organised mindset, you’re going to require some kind of service that does the reminding for you.
Setting up a new course is really easy. Click the Add Course tab at the top of the app and you’re presented with a small list to complete. It lets you add Course Code, Course Name, Professor, Office, Website, Email and additional Notes. I’d recommend filling all this in early in the semester when you are most motivated! You can then add all the classes you need to attend. Go to the course under the tab ‘Courses’ and tap Add Class. From here you can add the Course, Room, Class Type (lecture, lab, tutorial), Class Interval (Weekly, Bi-Weekly or One Time) in addition to start/end term dates, start/end class times and days of the week the class falls on.
As well as all this, you can include all the tasks you are required to do. If you have a module or course guide, your assignments, essays, exams, presentations and seminars should be included. In which case, add everything into this section. This way, you’ll always know where you need to be and what you need to do- which, let’s face it, we all need that kind of help sometimes.
I think the app could have benefited from notification reminders. While the full version syncs with Google Calendar (which provides reminders itself) the app doesn’t do so. Also, a homescreen widget would make the app even more useful. These omissions aside, School Scheduler is a neat and tidy application that’s incredibly simple to use and contains all the information a student might need.

Usefulness:
For staying on top of your studies, this is a brilliant little application. It keeps all your information in one place and gives you a go-to app when you’re not sure of a Professors name or what room your class is in. Combine this with a few other student-friendly applications such as Evernote or SpringPad and you’ll have a great head start on your college buddies thanks to mobile apps!
Ease of Use:
School Scheduler is very easy to use and highly intuitive. The user interface is designed around the ‘Holo’ principals that Google have not only been using themselves but encouraging 3rd party developer to utilize where possible. This additionally means the the app is simple to navigate and very user-friendly.
Frequently Used:
This perhaps depends on how busy your personal schedule is, but this could easily be one of the apps you consult on a daily basis. It helps you keep track on classes, tasks, courses and assignments with ease. My only recommendation would be to make sure all the information is entered right at the beginning of the semester, that way it’s always there for you to check.
Interface:
As I’ve discussed, it’s built on the Holo design principals so it’s not only functional but also looks awesome. There is both a light and dark theme too, so be sure to check them out to see which you prefer.
