ScareCauldron is a spooky Halloween sound board app that allows you to mix sounds that swirl in a witches brew pot. If you listen to the sounds with your headphones, they will fluctuate left/right channels in your head.
Price: Free, optional upgrade for $1.99
Tested on: Samsung Galaxy S3
Content Rating: Low Maturity
Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Mix scary Halloween sounds, maybe useful for a Halloween party?!?
Cons
- Novelty app and not really useful.
- Sounds continue to play if a phone call comes through.
Features:
ScareCauldron is a basic novelty sound board app you might use around Halloween time. Say if you’re having a party and in need of those scary sounds, hook your phone to some speakers via dual male 3.5mm cables, launch the app and throw some sounds in the witch brewing pot and let it go. Alternative if bored, toss on your headphones and hear the sounds fluctuate left/right channels in your head.
For a few bucks you can upgrade to receive more scary sounds. The Help menu seems to suggest this app is a game with two modes; Mixing and Haunt, however, there’s no game about this- just a sound board with a brewing pot theme. Forgive me if my enthusiasm is low as it truly is just a sound board app with 5 sounds you can play at random and the novelty wears off extremely fast. In testing it, I had a few calls come through and the sounds continued to play on my side during the conversation but the caller couldn’t hear them. It seems you have to “Quit” the app from the menu to stop the sounds, unsure if this is a bug or by design.
