Samsung Moment Finally gets Android 2.1 Update from Sprint

After push backs with many other phones anticipating the new Android 2.1 software. There is an official update for the Samsung Moment at Sprint’s support website. This will NOT be an over-the-air update, you have to get it yourself, it will require wiping your phone, plus you must visit Sprint’s support site for detailed instructions to do it yourself. Sucks as many Moment owners won’t have a clue they can get the update via a notification unless they find out on Android sites like ours.

2.1 Android update (Éclair).
Keypad backlight optimization.
Bulk Bluetooth contact push.
Various Bluetooth fixes.
Increased speed and performance.
Swipe to Unlock/Mute/Speakerphone.
New camera features
Pandora enhancements

I have to say it’s about damn time! but, the update relieved many regrets I was having from purchasing the moment. I want to see 2.2 in a much more timely fashion, Sprint!

Well this upgrade deffinitely makes a lot of sense. A lot of things have been fixed, and i can now enjoy the phone, and actually keep it. I was getting ready to return it cos i was still within the 30 days grace..

I like the fact that I can now sync my yahoo! Mail directly to the email app that comes with the phone.
