You can change w/out any new apps. Jus go to settings-> language and keypad -> Samsung keypad -> Keypad type -> then choose 3X4 Keypad. This will be the Keypad you’re used to.

Honestly I haven’t seen any really got ones that does T9 keyboard style everywhere. Otherwise there’s other but they’re specific to text messaging like Handcent.

Yes I am talking about the T9 keyboard. I agree that the keyboard is ugly, but also I dont like qwerty keyboards wen the phone is vertical.

I tried to install a 3rd-party keyboard almost immediately, but was disappointed to find out that this seems to be yet another one of the things that Samsung has locked down. Even though my keyboard DID install, and I saw all the options for it in the settings, nothing would remove Samsung’s poorly-designed and ugly keyboard.

As a side note, Michelle is correct in that the screen is very bright and beautiful. Also, the screen responds well to one’s touch.

I like this phone alot and I would like to know if you can change the on-screen keyboard for querty to a mormal phone keyboard?

Here are my impressions about Samsung Behold II phone:
Well equipped with multimedia facilities, use of AMOLED screen gives quite sharp and brighter colors. Use of android on this phone is arguably is the highlight.
There are many positive features about this phone, but a few
potential pitfalls for power users as well , Tech Wiz is not that great. The major concern is about the virtual keyboard using it in portrait made causes difficulties, so the only option left is using it in landscape mode.

I won a Samsung Behold 2 in their contest last December. I already owned a MyTouch 3G, and after playing with the Behold2 for about a week, I decided that it was absolutely NOT a phone for anyone who likes to have real control over how their phone operates. Samsung decided, for some reason, to lock down many hardware and software options on the phone, and they made some really bad choices while doing so. Namely, the cube; there’s a dedicated hardware button that launches (replacing the dedicated Search hardware button on other Android phones), and the Cube is almost entirely unable to be customized.

I gave the Behold2 to my parents, to be an upgrade to my mom’s phone. My dad’s setting it up for her, and the phone annoys him, too. He says the placement of the hardware buttons are just perfectly wrong, that he finds he’s pushing the buttons when he doesn’t intend to, and so on.

Anyway, for a free phone, it’s acceptable. That’s probably the best thing I can say about it.
