Rocket Music Player is an advanced audio player that supports both music and podcasts. It is presented in a slick chrome UI and boasts a heap of useful functions. Coming with a Free and fuller-featured unlocked Premium version, it’s a brilliant alternative to your native music player. Perhaps it’s killer feature, however, is that it is one of the few apps that is able to sync with iTunes…
Price: Free, $3.99 for Premium unlocked version
Tested on: HTC One X
Content Rating: Everyone
Pros & Cons:

- Widgets!
Cons

Features:
Rocket Music Player is an extremely polished music player. I guess the main strength of the app lies in its support of iTunes via iSyncr, an app made by the same developers. Perhaps if you have an iTunes account and have a large collection of music and audio files contained in Apple’s service, this is superb way of getting it onto your Android device with as little fuss as possible.
However, it is more than just an app that syncs with Apple services, it’s a superb stand alone player in its own right. It includes a graphic equaliser (5 band in the free version, 10 band in the full version) and bold lockscreen controller. It also supports podcast files so, you can play your downloaded podcasts through the application- even letting you bookmark your place.
The app is easy to use, letting you search and create playlists, browse by album, artist, song or genre. There are settings for album artwork, support for Apple ALAC files and gapless playback, a limiter which reduces audio distortion and also two widget sizes- 4×1 and 4×2. On top of all of this is the impressive sheen of the silver user interface, which half-reminds you of top quality HiFi equipment and mixing desks.
The app is free to download and includes no horrible ads, but the full version includes additional functionality. iSyncr too comes as a free version and includes downloads for both PC and Mac. If you use iTunes, definitely give both apps a try, see if it works as a solution for you.

Usefulness:
If you have a large iTunes library and want access on your Android in a convenient way, this could well be the ideal solution for you. Using Rocket Music Player along with iSyncr, you should be able to access your music seamlessly. Best of all though, you can try it out for free first! If you want to make things even more useful, check out the iSyncr WiFi add on app.
Ease of Use:
The apps are set up for ease-of-use, plus navigation and settings are very straight forward. Functionality is a little limited on the free apps but they at least give you a chance to see how effective the full apps will be.
Frequently Used:
This definitely will depend on the user; how often they listen to music and whether they have an iTunes account. It obviously works absolutely great as a standalone player, with many of the bells and whistles of other popular music apps in the Google Play Store. The addition of podcast support means you might even use it more frequently if you enjoy podcasts.
Interface:
The interface mimics that chrome-metal sheen you get with retro music systems. It’s very detailed and looks awesome. I wasn’t blown away by the lock screen UI, but the app is otherwise full of really cool little animations which give Rocket Music Player a really premium feel.
