Ringtonium is a gorgeous ringtone creator and, after being hugely popular on iOS, is now available on Android. Featuring a beautiful user interface and accurate sound file cutting, it’s the perfect app for creating your own customised ringtones.

Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Stunning UI!
- Easy to use!
- Additional effects!
- Let’s you record your own sounds for editing!
Cons
- Cannot seem to let you start at the beginning of the track.
- The Norm. effect seems to make little difference and the Gate effect serves only to make the ringtone choppy. Neither are explained anywhere in the app.
Features:
Ringtonium is a new Android app that was previously a big success on iOS. It’s essentially an app that lets you create and customise your own ringtones. You can choose a music track (or other sound file) already on your device, or simply record your own and then edit it.
Once a track is selected, it is presented in a preview screen which shows you the tracks waveform. Using the two paddles at the bottom, you can specify which part of the track you want to turn into a ringtone. There is also a ring in the middle of the screen which lets you intricately manoeuvre the paddles for more accurate cutting. The app allows you to play the ringtone back whenever you like to ensure it’s perfect and, once you are content, simply save the ringtone and apply!
Extra features include FX. These permit you to fade the track in and out to make your ringtone sound even more professional. There is also a Norm. effect and one called Gate. These are not explained in the app however and aside from Gate making the ringtone sound choppy, I was unsure of their exact purpose.
Using the app feels really good and familiar if you’ve used something like Ringdroid. Ringtonium, however, looks far more polished and slick. Once you have played with the app a while, it is very simple to use and is highly intuitive. The app features both an instruction video (see below) and a Program Guide, so you have plenty of tutorials if you need them.
Perhaps the only thing that I found strange with the app is the way you cannot seem to start a customised ringtone at the start of the track. This would infer that, if you wanted the opening chords of a song, this wouldn’t let you do it. It’s fine if you want some middle bars or a chorus perhaps, but not the opening. It’s strange because the paddle just doesn’t seem to want to go back that far. This aside, the app is great and very intuitive, so I can’t fathom why this is the case.

Ringtonium – Information and help
Usefulness:
For creating your own ringtones in a slick and polished app environment, Ringtonium is just fantastic. Ringtones can be created very easily and the accuracy of the cutting is superb.
Ease of Use:
The app environment is quite familiar if you’ve used ringtone creation apps before. With things like the effects and using the paddles to customise the length of your ringtone, it’s highly intuitive and user-friendly.
Frequently Used:
Personally, I do not change my ringtone very often. However I know there are some people who do so all the time- seemingly changing their ringtone every day in addition to having different ringtones for specific people or as new music emerges. Therefore, depending on the user, this could be something used quite frequently.
Interface:
The interface is stunning, really good-looking and smart. Definitely one of the best-looking ringtone apps in the Google Play Store.
