Last week Rhapsody was taking sign-ups for their much anticipating streaming music Android app boasting more than 8 Millions songs… the kind folks at RealNetworks informed us downloads of the Beta app are now available (note this is currently outside the Android Market, be sure to enable “Allow Install Unknown Sources” in your Settings menu).

You will need a Rhapsody To Go account, you can signup for a 7-day free trial from within the app. We’ll be testing it out and of course write up an official Android App Review.

Features:

  • Streaming Music
  • More than 8 Million Songs
  • Purchase Music
  • Background Streaming

Known issues at this time:

1. On extended playback over a cell connection, the application may unexpectedly skip to the next track.

2. Users with an HTC Hero (Sprint) or Nexus One (Google) phone may experience application freezes.

3. MP3 purchases may fail while the phone is connected via USB. We recommend that users do not attempt MP3 purchases while in this state.

4. Customers who previously took a Rhapsody trial may be prevented from signing up for another trial. If this problem occurs, users can contact us directly at android@rhapsody.com, please include Account Issue in the subject line.

DUDE !!! i have been waiting for this app for like 4 months !!! good job developer.. i hate uploading music to a device.. it just bugs me. people get lazier with all this stuff. When mp3 players hit the shelf people got lazy of burning Cd’s. Now i think streaming is the way to go i hate downloading music to a device. i just hope i don’t end up like that fat dude from the movie ” The gamer ” just sitting on my couch eating chocolates. but anyways good job buys.

    Thanks a lot
