Features:
Reddit is somewhat of a phenomenon. It bustles with fantastic content from all corners of the Internet. From original memes, pictures of cats, interesting news stories, quotes, videos, facts, shortcuts to cool websites to visit, pictures of cats…. Then you have all manner of discussion-style thread such as AMA (Ask Me Anything) AskReddit and TIL (Today I Learned). It’s a busy and thriving community that seems to be growing all the time.
There have been a number of unofficial Reddit clients added to the Google Play Store which allow you to access this rich content while out and about. Here at Androidtapp we’ve covered a few, for example the tasty BaconReader and the bold Reddionic. It was when I published the latter review onto Google Plus that a friend suggested I tried Reddit Sync.
Reddit Sync is a gorgeous client that is full of functionality and created around Google’s own ‘Holo’ design principals. This makes it simple to use as well as good-looking. Obviously if you’re using a device with Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean the app feels almost native. It is also incredibly smooth to use and highly intuitive. You right scroll through various popular subreddits (like subforums) which include: frontpage (the most popular posts depending on the number of up-votes they receive from users), funny, pics, announcements, askreddit, blog, world news, today I learned and so on…

If you scroll immediately left you can access account shortcuts based on your favourited subreddits (so, mine includes politics, technology, Android, music, etc). Moving between columns is remarkably smooth and, while the app sometimes takes a while to load up a full pages of content, it’s still remarkably fast in comparison to other apps which provide fresh and regularly updated content.
There’s some element of customisability too as you can select between day time and night time themes. You can also change highlight colours and there are several to choose from. There are then stacks of useful functions too, like Google Drive integration and the ability to save posts for offline reading. You can kind of tell it has been designed with the user in mind as it is very user-friendly. As such, while I was a big fan previously of BaconReader, this has overtaken it as my the app I use daily.

Usefulness:
If you enjoy browsing Reddit, this is definitely an app to try. It’s easy to use, features lots of functionality and is very customisable.
Ease of Use:
With the Holo user interface, it’s incredibly simple to use and navigate. It includes a side panel which is accessible from anywhere in the app. This lets you jump to your subreddits within two touches, regardless of where you are.
Frequently Used:
This very much depends on the user and how often you use Reddit while on your mobile Android device. Personally, while I do not post very often, I use the app pretty much every day.
Interface:
The interface is carefully designed around the ‘Holo’ designed principals released by Google themselves. Therefore it’s fast, good-looking and remarkably smooth. It also makes the app feel very much at home if you use Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean ROMs.
