Radiant Defense is a cute and mesmerizingly beautiful tower defense game from the same developers that brought you Radiant HD, EVAC HD and Robotek. Absorbing and challenging gameplay, easy controls and a high addiction factor compliment the stunning graphics. If you’re a fan of tower defense, then be sure to try this.

Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Gorgeous graphics!
- Immersive gameplay!
- Great sound!
- Lots of levels, enemies and towers to choose from!
Cons
- It’s a freemium game, although I’m not wholly convinced this model works well with tower defense games.
Features:
Radiant Defense by Hexage is a fun and engrossing tower defense title that ravels the likes of HexDefense. The stand out feature of the game is the richly animated neon visuals which leap from the screen in vivid images that rip with colour. The whole screen glows and pulsates with action, just check out the video below. Invading aliens never looked so good!
Some creepy alien overlord is invading our galaxy using a wormhole. Alien hordes are coming through wave after wave and it’s your job to stop them! You have several towers at your disposal, and being able to configure the route the aliens will have to take prior to the start of each mission is really good and adds a strategic element to gameplay.
There are 10 missions in the game, which make for over 300 waves of baddies to take on, each getting stronger and stronger. Thankfully the weapons at your disposal are pretty cool too- there are nine in total and each can be upgraded in terms of power. Another cool element of the game is that with each mission the story unfolds all the more. Between missions, talking heads pop up from the human commander, the scientist who is monitoring the wormhole and the evil alien warlord himself so you can follow the plot as it unravels. I quite liked this feature, there’s plenty of humour and it makes the game more engaging.
The game is a freemium title so you have the opportunity to make in-game purchases of specific weapons. These aren’t strictly essential, and you have more than enough firepower, but you will have to be far more strategically careful to deploy the right weapons for the right kind of enemy. The in-game purchases feel more ‘optional’ rather than obligatory.

Fun Factor:
Radiant Defense is lots of fun. Not only do you get some sublime tower defense action but the plot and humour in the game is great and a nice addition- seeing that so many such games are rather serious in nature.
Addictive:
Highly! There are lots of missions and waves to take on, weapons to try and upgrade… plus the storyline is evocative and engaging so worth sticking with.
Graphics:
The graphics are out of this world. Bright neon visuals on a deep dark backdrop, sprites glow, the laser fire pulsates and everything is slick and perfectly animated.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The sound is also fantastic. Mixed by a DJ called Kubatko, it’s polished, professional and top-notch. You might not find a finer score in the Google Play Store. Above all else it works perfectly with the game.
