QUICK for eBay & Craigslist is a slick shopping application for buying and selling across multiple online platforms. The focus here is to make selling items really easy and buying things a more streamlined experience. The app comes with a few other cool features, which I’ll expand on below…
Price: Free
Tested on: HTC One X
Content Rating: Medium Maturity
Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Interacts with multiple marketplaces; Quick Marketplace, Craigslist, eBay… also lets you offer Facebook friends exclusive prices!
- Great interface!
- Simple to use!
- Live chat between buyers and sellers!
Cons
- U.S. only.
- No tablet optimization.
Features:
Quick for eBay and Craigslist makes it easier than ever to buy and sell online, either locally or nationally. You can log in either by creating an account or logging in via Facebook. If you want to be able to offer “Friends Only” prices to your Facebook buddies you’ll need to log in via that social network.
For review purposes, it’s probably best to divide the functionality into buying and selling in order to go into more depth while explaining the features. On the main screen of the app there is the green tab for listing an item, and blue ones for searching and buying…
Buying
So if you want to use the app to buy stuff you can choose initially between three user-friendly options: Nearby (which lets you scan items for sale locally), Browse (search items by category, from Art and Hobbies to Vehicles and Parts) and Scan (this cool feature lets you scan an item and search for prices online- an awesome way to make savings while out shopping!).
When you find an item you like you can take a look at its details. These usually include a few pictures and a description, including location. If you have any questions about the item you can simply open up a dialogue box to ask the seller directly. These chats can happen in real-time, so no waiting around. Then, decide on a price and make an offer. It’s that simple. You can also agree to pay by cash or PayPal as both are supported. Like eBay you’ll notice that sellers have ratings, which also incorporates transactions and feedback.
Selling
Selling things on Quick for eBay and Craigslist is also really simple. First you can ‘Find’ your item. This gives it an automatic title and description. For a trial I went to sell my I Am Legend DVD. All I had to do was scan the barcode of the DVD all the info came up automatically, including a full description. You can then add photos via the in-app camera function. Add as many as you like. Then select which category it should go in: Art and Hobbies, Baby and Kids, Beauty and Health, Books, Clothes and Accessories, Electronics, Free Items, General, Home and Garden, Jewelry, Sporting Goods, Tickets and Vehicles and Parts. (I put my DVD in Electronics as directed by the app.) Next you have to add the condition, giving it a star rating 1-5. Then complete payment and delivery options which is just a few boxes to tick. Finally you have to decide where you ant to sell it. You have the options of: QUICK’s own Marketplace, Craigslist and eBay. You get a quick conformation screen with a neat Publish button at the bottom… and your item is listed!
I should mention that, at the time of writing, the market is quite small and limited to the U.S. However, just breezing through the options in a smooth user interface and realising just how easy it is got me thinking that, conceptually, the potential is huge. The service has hundreds of items already for sale, it just needs more uptake to make the service broader!

Usefulness:
Online marketplaces are really common these days but finding one that’s built for mobile phones is quite rare. It’s superb that items can be automatically listed onto eBay and Craigslist, meaning the article you are selling gets maximum market exposure. Being able to browse really easily, and by location too, is convenient and user-friendly. Creating a listing is autonomous and intuitive; simply find the item and the app will fill in the details for you. It all means you can do everything on-the-go and is perfect for people with busy lives.
Ease of Use:
Genuinely, it couldn’t be easier. Whether you’re buying or selling, the process of searching and listing are seamlessly straightforward and intuitive. The app wins big time on user-friendliness and ease of use.
Frequently Used:
This always depends on the user. Hopefully, if the service grows, it might be something you use more often.
Interface:
The interface is great- incredibly responsive, simple to use and also looks great for a UI. There might be a few other apps with a little more polish, but you’re not going to find many shopping apps that look this good.
