Purrapy Fluffy Live Wallpaper is a cute cat simulator and live wallpaper. Featuring 6 different cats: European Cutie, Red Striped, Mighty Maine Coon, Tame Leopard, Proud Scottish and Gentle Siberian; the app also gives each of these different voices and reactions. There’s a personal element with the app too, letting you name each cat however you wish.
Each kitty comes with a different fur texture, relaxed purring noise, cute meowing sound and a mewling sound (more annoyed) which the app calls ‘Pshhh’. There is an in-app option to test these out too. I’m pleased to say the sound effects are actually very good and, while I’m not a cat expert, I’m certainly convinced they are the cats the sounds are meant to be. Additionally the sounds are quite realistic too, not that horrible tinny noise you get with some apps.
There’s a relaxing purr timer, allowing you to soak up the therapeutic purring sounds for set periods… it’s like a virtual cat in your lap! The free app gives you 2 cats for free and the option to either unlock all the other cats ($1.99) or singular cats ($0.99). Obviously this is an app with quite a selective audience. If you’re not really into cats this probably isn’t going to float your boat but, if you’re the ultimate feline-fan, this is pretty much the coolest app you might find.

Usefulness:
For the discerning fan that wants to blend their kitty-love with their adoration of Android goodness, this is the ultimate app. Featuring 6 different kitties, a Live Wallpaper and realistic cat noises, the app provides everything except the need for a little tray.
Ease of Use:
Stroke, tap or shake your phone to get the cat to purr, meow or ‘pshhh’. Menus are simple to navigate and the whole app is very intuitive.
Frequently Used:
As a Live Wallpaper it will of course run in the background whenever your phone is active, but you can enter the app itself separately and play with the sound effects whenever you wish. Frequency will obviously depend on you, but with extra features like the purring timer, (for its a great app for genuine cat lovers.
Interface:
The app looks good and is very well designed. Each fur looks very realistic and reacts beautifully to being stroked- the fur displacement animations look great. As mentioned, the menus, etc. also look good and are perfectly easy to navigate.
