Postman SMS Spam Blocker is one of those apps that took a problem and solved it, without a lot of extra bells and whistles. When you install it, the app checks all your incoming text messages, and moves any that are considered spam into its own spam folder, rather than let them move through to your SMS program of choice. You can set the threshold of what it considers spam – the default is high, but you can adjust this in settings.
Another nice feature is that, once a message has been marked spam, you can go in and tell Postman that the sender is “white listed” and it will allow all messages from that person to pass through from there on out. I do wish you could add senders to the list from your address book, or have it scan your current text messages so you can weed out the spam from the legitimate people you talk to right up front. However, that’s a minor complaint, and it just means that it will take a little longer to get the app working seamlessly. Plan on spending a few days, depending on how heavily you text, sorting through the spam folder and assigning white list status to the right people. However, once you do that, the app is one of those that you can just forget about, checking every now and then to make sure nothing you want accidentally slipped through.

Usefulness:
Depending on how many spam text messages you get, this could be a very useful app, keeping your SMS program cleaned of the things you don’t want to see, so you can focus on the important messages.
Ease of Use:
You literally just install it and it starts working, so I don’t know that it gets any easier. There are a few settings to fine-tune how the app identifies spam, as well as the white list, but none of it is hard to figure out.
Frequently Used:
As I mentioned above, at first you’ll probably be in the app a few times a day, fine-tuning the settings and marking friends and family as being part of the white list. But once that’s done, the app will just work in the background without needing you to check in more than maybe once a month or so, to check and clean out the spam.
Interface:
The interface is very simple, but it doesn’t need to be more than that. The app is really meant to run in the background, so it only needed enough interface to let you set it up, so you can forget it.
