Usefulness & Frequently Used:

PodKast Audio & Video Podcast is excellent for those who listen to podcasts regularly.

Ease of Use:

Use the search feature to find your favorite podcasts if it is not already in the list or discover new audio and video content.

Interface:

Initial impressions may seem as if there is a lot going on in the app, but the use of tabs at multiple levels organize the UI. I like the feature when listening to a podcast, you can still navigate to other shows you may be interested in and the player docks to the bottom.

Once you find your podcast, tap the Favorites “Star” button. Then you’ll be able to easily find them in your Favorites tab.

        Hi Sir
Thanks for the feedback. The problem is that the podcast I want do not appear on the list. I would like to add my favourite podcasts to the directory, Example: http://rss.dw-world.de/xml/DKpodcast_lgn_de
        cheers!

Am I missing where you can delete the podcast that you saved to the SD card after you’re finished listening?

Use a file manager like Astro…find the file on the SD, then long-press it. That will either give you a menu with a delete option or an option that reads, “edit”, edit will then lead you to the option to delete.

It’s definitely a CON that you can’t add your own Podcast RSS-Feed. This is a basic function. Unusable for people with interests away from mainstream.

I’m liking the product except 1 thing: When I open another program while a podcast is playing, I can’t figure out how to get back to the “player” (where I can pause, rewind, etc). I see the icon in the notification bar, but when I click it, it starts a NEW podcast over the currently playing one (2 playing at the same time!!). If I open up PodKast again from my home screen, I see the main PodKast screen, but can’t see how to get back to the currently playing podcast!

    Please help!

What happens when you Longpress (hold for 2 more seconds) the Home button then tap the Podkast icon?

I also have this problem. The only way I have found to stop a podkast once you have started it is to take out your battery. Quit doesn’t work. Either does the close option. This app would be great if I could just get it to exit without removing my battery.

    Thanks Tapp.

Longpressing does work, however upon further investigation, so now does the Notification bar! I’m wondering if the difference is that now I’m listening to a downloaded podcast, whereas before I was streaming it.

Next time I stream a podcast, I’ll try the longpress and see if that solves my problem.

Either way, seems like there should be a button in the main bar (or somewhere on the main podkast page) that pulls up the player.

If this is one of the best I’d hate to see the worst. No matter what podcast show I click on I get the same error: “An error just happened, the file may not be available anymore, It might also be a network issue. Please feel free to try again later. ……etc etc……so then I have to try and download and it’s 50-50 if I get the file without having to download again and then when I finally do get it, it wont play because it says it’s corrupted…….WTF?

Seems to not have the ability to import and OPML file.

Would like that feature to be able to import my playlist of podcasts.

Software works well if you like podcasts in the list already and you download them instead of streaming. No ability to add your own podcasts, subscription casts are out of the question as well. If someone calls you there’s a 50/50 chance it will resume playback. Manually resuming playback can lead to multiple instances of the feed playing with no way to remove them without a task killer. Titles always have the same french (I think) sentence first. Streams may stop for no reason and multitasking may cause it to stop playback as well. I use daily hoping bug fixes and features will be added but I usually my experience ends in frustration. Could be best app available with some work and time. Gui looks great.

PodKast is having major issues on my Android. It will not play the whole podcast – no matter which one I play.

PodKast will also start on it’s on sometimes with the last podcast I attempted to listen to.

I have uninstalld and reinstalled PodKast. How can I fix these issues?

Like this utility. Works good for free. My only complaint is some podcasts record at too low volume. Any way to boost the gain?
