Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Very fun, hilarious and addictive strategy peashooter game!
- Offers hours of Zombie-blasting entertainment with 50 levels; through day, night, and fog, in a swimming pool, and on the rooftop
- Not just repetitive levels with varying enemies, but there’s a change up lending odes to other gaming classics
- Perfect time killer game
- Plants vs. Zombies was an exclusive freebie on Amazon’s App Store, hope you snagged it!
- Suitable for all ages; children to adults
Cons
- On the Samsung Infuse 4G’s larger screen you can see slight pixelation, I would have assumed a highly anticipated game like this wouldn’t for that baggage
- Screen timeout is rather short, thus you have to reload the game to get back started
- Minor gripe, available as a Wi-Fi only download due to large file size (73MB)
- Minor gripe, Plants vs. Zombies is currently only available on Amazon’s App Store and not in the Android Market
Features:
Stop the presses… a highly anticipated game that skips Google and launches exclusively on Amazon can’t be this fun- could it? Well the answer is Yes! Plants vs. Zombies is an insanely fun, hilarious and addictive strategy peashooter game.
How to Play Plants vs. Zombies
Brain hungry Zombies are trying to break into your house and eat your thinker. To your defense is your precious garden, which offers a variety of perennials as you win levels and achieve them. While your main goal is to protect your scalp, you must also multi-manage planting your garden army (tap from the arsenal on the left then tap a free space on the screen), but you need sunlight. In the daytime sunshine only comes so often so you need to plant enough sunflowers to help produce faster. Each Sun-drop racks up points which you use to buy various plants of different skills. At night you must plant mushroom, which offer small amounts of sunshine at first, when they grow up they offer more.
Purchase and use your plants to blast those Zombies, if they get past all your defenses… well eat their way past your defenses; the last line of defense for you is the lawnmower or pool cleaner, which will wipe out a line of Zombies. Allow them to get past that and your noddle will be slurped out your head like angel hair pasta!
Just like you variation in photosynthesis gulpers, the Zombies have different strengths and weaknesses; more can be learned about ally or foe in the Almanac.
Oh, then there’s Crazy Dave… the googly-eyed guy that offers hints and sells you useful stuff such as extra slots to fit more plant weapons. Throughout the game you can get different achievements and chuckle points such as the notes those Zombies leave for you.

Fun Factor & Addictive:
In addition to a funny story, one of the strongest qualities this game possess is just how damn fun & addictive it is. I found myself immersed into it, playing for hours… nearly playing all the levels in one day.
Plants vs. Zombies is not just repetitive levels with varying enemies, but there’s a change up lending odes to other gaming classics. There’s levels where you bowl and “strike”, guess the vase or even “wack-a-mole” those Zombies!
Graphics:
For the most part the graphics looked good, never lagged and offer a unique cartoon-ish feel suitable to the comical nature of the game. However, on the massive 4.5 inch screen of the Samsung Infuse 4G I did notice slight pixelation. I this will be a non issue in an update for large phones or tablet owners.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
There is only a new for good sound and music in Plants vs. Zombies, and Popcap nailed that. There is sound and effects that can be toggled; and you would definitely want them on as they’ll make you smirk when the undead taunt you with, “We’re coming” or “Brains”!
